Minimum number of affine simplexes of given dimension
In this paper we formulate and solve extremal problems in the Euclidean space Rd and further in hypergraphs, originating from problems in stoichiometry and elementary linear algebra. The notion of affine simplex is the bridge between the original problems and the presented extremal theorem on set systems. As a sample corollary, it follows that if no triple is collinear in a set S of n points in R3, then S contains at least fenced(frac(n, 4)) - c n3 affine simplices for some constant c. A function related to Sperner's Theorem and its well-known extension to reciprocal sums is also considered and its relation to Turán's hypergraph problems is discussed. © 2014 Elsevier B.V. Modeling and Calculation of the Global Solar Irradiance on Slopes
The first step with regard to a simple model of a Photovoltaic Power Plant is developed in this paper based on astronomical and engineering principles. A solar irradiance model is presented in this paper that can be used to forecast the solar energy a surface on Earth is exposed to. The obtained model is verified against engineering expectations. The developed model can serve as a basis for forecasting the power of solar energy
New Complex Military and Civil UAV/RPA Classification System for Registration, Administrative Purposes, and Special Operation Preparation = Ăšj komplex katonai Ă©s polgári UAV/RPA osztályozási rendszer regisztráciĂłs Ă©s közigazgatási cĂ©lĂş felhasználáshoz, valamint kĂĽlönleges műveletek elĹ‘kĂ©szĂtĂ©sĂ©hez
In addition to the existing different UAV classification terms (e.g. NATO JAPCC, UVSI, US ARMY, EASA, CAA, etc.), the article deals with the necessity and possibilities of creating a new, more sophisticated and unified classification system, combined with a high security labelling system that provides a more professional registry of UAVs (both civilian and military). Based on the new unique code system, it is possible to clearly identify the most essential properties and specification data (e.g. payload, armaments, hanging points, sensors, range, endurance, speed and altitude ranges, weather minimums, etc.), nature of use (e.g. military recon/assault, SAR, agriculture, law enforcement, recreation, hobby, commercial, etc.), type of flight modes, risk level (combined with accident statistics), cost of the unit, VIN, etc. It also helps the efficient work of law enforcement agencies/authorities to check the lawfulness of UAV operation onsite (database contains photos, insurance status and other detailed information), avoiding corrupt identification of the unit.

Hybrid time-quality-cost trade-off problems
Agile and hybrid project management has become increasingly popular among
practitioners, particularly in the IT sector. In contrast to the theoretically and algorithmically well-established and developed time-cost and time-quality-cost project management methods, agile and hybrid project management lacks a principle foundation and algorithmic treatment. The aim of this paper is to fill this gap. We propose a matrix-based method that provides scores for alternative project plans that host flexible task dependencies and undecided, supplementary task completion while also covering traditional time-quality-cost trade-off problems. The proposed method can bridge the agile and traditional approaches
3D Visualization of a Case-Based Distance Model
Regarding to the conveyance of materials the assignment of
stock-keeping units (SKUs) is one of the most important tasks in
a warehouse. The units in the interest of their easier handling
can be sorted into groups. To classifying SKUs the most
frequently used method is the ABC analysis. The traditional
approach implements a simplified scheme, which is mostly based
on annual dollar usage. Classifying units according to one
characteristic can lead to rushed result, because the assignment
of stock-keeping units might be influenced by other factors,
like number of orders, weight or lead time. In recent years a
number of decision models have been developed in order to make
it possible to consider more than one criterion in the same
time. In general, in the case of representing a model the
introduction of the algorithm is more preferable than the
visualization of data. However the visualization of results can
relieve the comprehension of the given problem and the way, how
the model works, even in relation to sorting problems. The aim
of this research is to introduce a plotting method which
visualizes the results coming from the Case-based distance model
developed by Chen, Kilgour and Hipel. This method stregthens the
classification by providing separating nonlinear surfaces.
